Merdeka Carnival 2007

Held annually, this year's festival will be extra special. It was an event to rejoice, celebrate and be part of a historic moment. A nation solemnizing its 50 years of independence. The country who achieved independence from Britain on August 31, 1957. What better way to celebrate than to gather with the Malaysians, eat Malaysian delicacies and watch some traditional shows at Brickendonbury on this special day.

Satay £4.00. Puji-Pujian Satay memang best giler!

Malaysia has growth as a most rapid nation in the world with their citizen commitment. I am proud to be a Malaysian. But what is the meaning of MERDEKA if we as the multi racial country's people are not united? Or is MERDEKA is just merely another word in our daily life?

The meaning of MERDEKA should run deeper than the mere display of patriotism. It should be a platform for every Malaysian
to express their due respect and recognition for those who had contributed in one way or another to the nation in gaining independence from our colonial masters.

Happy 50th Malaysia. Live long and prosper!
