Do You Know Your Fish?

Few weeks back, I went to one of the local supermarket and as I was looking thru the fish section, it made me realized that I am not that familiar with the fish names in English (not that I know my Malay fish names any better!). But I thought it would be a good thing to do some extra digging and upgrade my knowledge.

Bawal Putih - White Pomfret

Bawal Hitam - Black Pomfret

Jenahak - Golden Snapper

Kakap - Sea Bream

Tuna

Tongkol - FrigateTuna

Kembung - Mackerel / Indian Mackerel

Kerapu - Grouper

Merah - Red Snapper

Selar - Yellowtail Scad

Selayang - Round Scad

Siakap - Barramundi / Asian Seabass/ Giant Perch

Tenggiri - Spanish Mackerel

Terubuk - Longtail Shad

So, there they are. Itu la, kecik2 tak nak belajar dengan mak. Sekarang dah jadi mak, nak ajar apa pulak kat anak2.
