Sepi

Today for the first time, I watched the film "Sepi". My dearest hubby watched the film during the Malaysian Week Festival kat London. His comment - "You should watch this movie!"

This film was directed by Khabir Bhatia. A brilliant combination of actors. Amongst other, Afdlin Shauki & Vanida, Tony Eusoff & Eja; Baizura Kahar, Pierre Andrea. The whole cast did a brilliant job.

The film is about three individuals in the city who learn the meaning of love, loss and loneliness. Adam (Afdlin), a successful young chef, creates confectionery masterpieces for weddings, yet has still to find his own bride. Then there is Sufi (Tony), who each day runs for miles in an attempt to outrun the memories of his dead wife. Finally, there is Imaan (Baizura), a young playwright who discovers that theatre is a stage of where her past is finally resolved and her future is unveiled. All three strangers are inevitably linked to a single dramatic moment that transforms their lives forever.

What do I love about this movie? I love the simple plot/storyline. Definitely a love story that wants to make you fall in love. A tearjerker. It has the most beautiful cinematography ever. Just splendid, I felt as if I was in the movie. The songs are really touchy and it suits every scene.

When I watched the movie for the first time, I simply couldn't stop. Ianya satu kelainan. I watched this movie 3 times in a day! What more can I say? 2 thumbs up! I know it is a high claim, but I sincerely believe this is the best Malay movie I've ever watch. At last, I can be proud of a Malay movie. Kudos!
